The Approvals dashboard is your FinOps command center, where automated workflows seamlessly integrate with human decision-making. This integration transforms how FinOps teams collaborate with engineering, replacing manual follow-ups and scattered communications with streamlined approval flows.
Instead of managing multiple optimization requests, reports, and team communications manually, our approval system automates the process while maintaining critical human oversight. This approach not only strengthens engineering team accountability but also accelerates FinOps initiatives by removing operational bottlenecks.
Every entry in the Approvals dashboard is generated through workflows containing an Approve step, ensuring consistent tracking and visibility. As workflows execute, the Approve step automatically populates and updates the dashboard, creating a single source of truth for all approval-based processes.
By incorporating stakeholder feedback directly into automated workflows, teams can make informed decisions faster while maintaining complete visibility and control over the process - at scale.

Accessing the Approvals Dashboard
Navigate to the Approvals page through either:
- Under the Monitor section in the left navigation bar - this gives you a complete view of all approval requests across the platform

- Space specific approvals - where you can view and manage approval requests specific to that space

Utilizing Approvals
The customizable approval labels make this feature versatile for various FinOps scenarios.
Here's how you can leverage approval flows:
- When sending cost optimization opportunities to engineering teams, customize your approval labels to match specific actions - for example, 'Terminate EBS Volume' or 'Exclude' for storage management decisions.
- For anomaly detection workflows, use labels like 'Good Catch' and 'Bad Catch' to gather quick feedback and improve detection accuracy.
- Even routine cost reports can become interactive by offering options like 'Schedule a meeting' or 'No action needed', streamlining follow-up actions.
These examples just scratch the surface - approval flows can be tailored to any FinOps process, significantly reducing manual overhead and streamlining team interactions."
